Hi Mom and Dad,
I am doing well, this week has gone by fast again. I
had started in my zone on the third floor. I would possibly be doing
processing the books up there, I don't know yet and I have one more week of
training here in the family history library. Yesterday, Friday Oct 26,
was my first T-n-R (temple and research). It was just a half a day, and I
was working on Gpa K's side but it was difficult since his dad
and him changed their last names so I am going on a different approach. I
am going to start finding Julius Szilberman (Gpa K's grandpa). He
doesn't have much information, but maybe that would lead me somewhere.
I am making sure to pray so that the spirit of Elijah can help me with
my search. After I write this email I will go to the temple to do Opa's
(Frans Braal) name, so he can have his initiatory done and on Halloween,
we will be going to the Mount Timanoges (it's spelled wrong), to do an endowment
session and I will bring Opa's name. I can tell when I see him again,
he will give me a hug for doing his temple work.
Also next month,
November, me and my companion will be moving into a new apartment
because new missionaries will be coming. Apparently, I will be living
with the other Elder Jones, so I would like to know how that will work out. I have been building puzzles back at my apartment, which has
been fun. I forgot to say that I am in an evening zone, Tuesday -
Thursday. It's called the special projects. My project is wiki: Welsh
names list. I am supposed to correct or edit names on the familysearch wiki by going through
certain books. It's been fun. I seen a lot of Jones' in the books. That
would be interesting coming across one of my ancestors. I also got my
packages you sent me so thank you.
As for my zone, the missionaries and employers are very nice and kind.
They have been giving me work, while they are still figuring out what to
do with me. So far I will be out on my mission for one month, gosh,
it's gone by fast. Well, that's what happens when I have fun. Well, I will email you back next Saturday and dad I bet
that if I saw the front yard it would look nice. Is there a planter
area in front of the rock? See ya in two years.
Love from your missionary,
Elder Kevin R. Jones
P.S. Give Katie the dog a hug for me
everyday and tell her to watch my legos and to guard them. Give Peej and Midnight and Leo a hug. Also Mom, don't think about getting another cat
when I am gone.

Week 2
Dear Dad and Mom,
This week has gone by sooo fast. This Friday, October 19, I've been called to my new zone. I work in the family history digital and preservation services. I am excited to start, which will be Monday. It was also my trainers last day, Elder Speidel. He was a good trainer. He taught me how to source names and make my pedigree bulletproof.
After all of the new missionaries got their new zones, we went to the Jordan River temple for the endowment session. We also ate lunch in the cafeteria and the food was pretty good. That was my first time eating in the temple cafeteria.
When I was in training, I am about 40 -60% sure that Grandma Jones has an older sister, Barbara Jean Fife. I might have found her birth certificate with Grandma Bailey's last name on it. I want to do more research.
About ASL it was too bad that I didn't get called to the deaf zone, but that's ok, because maybe the Lord, knows when the best opportunity is. But they have an ASL class in the Family History Library, and I want to try and go to it.
I heard that you guys had fun and Jekka told me that the red jeep popped a tire and the blue jeep had it's wheels in the air. That sounds like an awesome moab trip. I don't know why but I don't feel jealous for some reason.
Another thing is that new.familysearch will soon no longer exist and familytree on the familysearch.org will replace it and Mom don't worry about the mistakes on new.familysearch because some of them are opinions. If you log on to familysearch and family tree does not appear that's because it's not up yet and they are still working on it. Right now, I have a lot of sources on my familytree, I am allowed on it because my trainer put in an invite. Hope you guys have a fun next week and give Katie, Peej, Midnight, Leo, a hug for me. I miss them, but mostly katie.
Love,
Elder K. Jones
P.S.
Mom, can you forward my emails to Bro. Jolley, his email is in my contacts in my yahoo mail.

Welcome to Elder K. Jones' Mission
Hey Mom,
My first day of my
mission is going really great and I already love it here. I already went
shopping with my companion, Elder Hurd. I bought milk, eggs, bread,
pasta roni, macroni and cheese. I bought my groceries at a place called Harmons. I understand how to use the money they gave me.
Only about forty dollars for groceries. I also been able to get quarters
for my laundry.
My trainer is Elder Siepled ( I think I
spelled it wrong.) He is a nice guy and I can tell it's going to be fun
to work with. The luncheon we new young missionaries had was interesting
and the food was good.
I am excited for General Conference and I get to see the Priesthood
Session at the Conference Center. When I get to start working on my
family history. I was thinking about starting with Gpa K's
side since it only goes to the fifth generation. When Nathan has his
gig, tell me how it went and if they been able to get paid.
Orientation has been a good help understanding what I
would be doing. I also registered to vote incase I want to. All the
Elders on this mission that I met were nice and kind. I can tell that
Heavenly father loves me and he picked the perfect mission for me. I still need to unpack but I
wanted to email you first. I can tell I will love working here and the
spirit will help me be able to succeed. Also I can't remember Dad's
email, so can you tell me his email.
I don't really have much to say but with much experiences and time,
my emails would probably be long. Give Katie the dog a hug for me and
tell her I love her and miss her. Make sure she takes her pills morning
and night so her legs don't bother her. I miss you mom and dad and everyone else in the family and I
love you all, but I will only be gone for two years and I can tell that
it's going to go real fast if I have fun.
Love from your missionary,
Elder K. Jones
P.S. The Elders here will call me Elder K. Jones since there is another Elder Jones.
